The 6th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals in Cincinnati has upheld a lower court ruling dismissing a defamation lawsuit filed by a Chillicothe woman against actor James Woods over social media posts during the 2016 presidential campaign.
Portia Boulger was an activist for Bernie Sanders. A Twitter account mistakenly identified Boulger as a woman who appeared to give a Nazi salute at a Donald Trump rally. Woods' account retweeted the photo, which was of another woman, and Woods eventually corrected it.
