The Maumee man convicted on state murder charges in Virginia for the deadly car attack at a 2017 white nationalist rally in Charlottesville has pleaded guilty to federal hate crime charges.
21-year-old James Fields Junior faces 29 federal charges. He was convicted in December of first-degree murder and other state charges for killing activist Heather Heyer and injuring dozens of others by driving his car into a crowd of people conducting a a counterprotest.
