A 127-page document on plans to build a new stadium for Columbus Crew SC says construction costs will include 140 million in public money, up from the previous 115 million dollar estimate.
The document was turned over to Mayor Andy Ginther on Monday. It also says not all of the land needed for the downtown stadium has been obtained. August 15 is the deadline date. The city, Franklin County, and developer Crew SC Stadium Company will form an authority to oversee the faciilty and the redevelopment of the Crew’s current stadium into a multi-use sports complex. The completion date is listed as July 1st of 2021.
