BOE Says Ticket Tax Repeal Backers Failed To Collect Enough Valid Petition Signatures

The Franklin County Board of Elections says the group seeking to place a repeal of Columbus'  ticket tax on the ballot failed to collect enough valid petition signatures to put the issue before voters this fall.

Advocates for Responsible Taxation was also found by the board to have collected signatures from five petitioners not registered to vote in the city. Officials say the group may try again to collect enough valid signatures. The final deadline to submit is August 7th.
