The Ohio Secretary of State's office was the target of a recent cyberattack.
A spokesperson says the attack was an attempt to insert code into the office's website. It originated from a computer in Panama, but data was not at risk. Earlier this year, the office instructed Ohio's county boards of election to undertake a comprehensive multi-faceted security strategy.
