Some UD Students 'Celebrate' Coronavirus-Prompted Class Cancelations

tennesseestar.com

Dayton police were called early Wednesday to quell a gathering of more than a thousand University of Dayton students after the school canceled classes over coronavirus concerns.

Officers say they were forced to fire pepper balls into the crowd when students refused orders to disperse and began jumping on cars and throwing bottles. Some of the students said they were "celebrating" the university's decision. Meanwhile, sixteen Miami University students are in quarantine because of possible contact with a coronavirus patient.  Butler County health officials say the students recently attended a conference in Washington, D.C. with a person who contracted the virus.
