The COVID-19 pandemic has prompted OhioHealth to implement a no visitor policy at all of its hospitals and care centers. The policy took effect this morning.
OhioHealth will grant exceptions for end of life patients, those with disabilities needing extra assistance, patients under the age of 18, and maternity patients. No time limits will be placed on approved visitors. OhioHealth earlier this week canceled all elective surgeries.
The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center's no visitor policy also took effect today at its 7 hospitals. Exceptions will be made for end-of-life situations, maternity patients, and individuals under the age of 18. The medical center yesterday also postponed all elective surgeries.
As of yesterday, there were 119 confirmed cases of COVID-19 in 24 Ohio counties. Another update is expected today at around 2 p.m.
