Dozens Of OSU Students, Staffers Test Positive For COVID-19

State health officials Tuesday reported 777 new cases of COVID-19 and ten new deaths.

The state now has 115,651 cases and 3,996 deaths.

Eighty Ohio State University students and 12 faculty and staff have tested positive for COVID-19, according to the school's new data dashboard published Tuesday.

The data comes from over 77 hundred tests conducted in the first three weeks of August. It represents 1.2 percent of students and 1.4 percent of faculty and staff tested.  The data will be updated every Tuesday.

School officials say it's too soon to draw conclusions, but several large universities have been forced to close after a surge in community spread.
