Why Rare Leadership Is Well-Done at Omaha Steaks

It’s an iconic success story with a menu of leadership lessons: Born from a family escaping oppression in 1917, Omaha Steaks transformed from a small butcher shop into a global brand synonymous with the finest steaks. They’ve stayed at the top because of their long history of leaders driven to innovate.

CEO Nate Rempe joins host Maureen Metcalf to unpack the leadership methods that foster such long-lasting success – methods you can adopt, too.

Nate Rempe is the President and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Omaha Steaks. He is the first person outside of the Simon family to serve as President & CEO in more than 100 years.

Nate previously served the company as Vice President and Chief Information Officer. Prior to joining the Omaha Steaks team, he was Senior Vice President and Chief Technology Officer at Nebraska Book Company. He is a graduate of the University of Nebraska–Lincoln and completed his graduate education at Creighton University, where he later joined the Executive Faculty in the Department of Information Science & Technology. He has also held various independent advisory board positions including one at ClassBundle, LLC (a Nelnet company) and is a named inventor on four United States patents directed to technology and business processes.

Beyond his passion for food (and steak, in particular), Nate has a long track record of nurturing and inspiring others to become better leaders. His unique abilities and strengths motivate high-performing teams and drive business success. Nate balances his professional success with what he describes as his most rewarding role of dedicated husband and father.
