5 Dead In Apparent Murder-Suicide

The Sylvania School District in suburban Toledo is offering counseling for children and staffafter three students, along with their uncle and grandmother, were found dead at home Monday. The bodies were found in a car in the family's garage. Toledo Police Sergeant Joe Heffernan says a truck was running with hoses leading from the exhaust into the car, and the victims may have died of carbon monoxide poisoning in a murder-suicide.Heffernan identified the victims as 54-year-old Sandy Ford; her 32-year-old son, Andy; and grandchildren, Paige, Logan and Madalyn Hayes. Heffernan says the children had been living with their grandparents, but their parents were trying to regain full custody. He says Sandy Ford was upset about that. The children attended Whiteford Elementary School.
