The Franklin County Court of Appeals has rejected a request from Doctor William Husel and Mount Carmel Health System to stay the 29 wrongful death lawsuits filed by patient families while his criminal case is still pending.
Husel has pleaded not guilty to 25 counts of murder for allegedly giving patients fatal overdoses of pain medication. The hospital system has paid more than 13 million dollars in settlements so far. The court upheld a rejection by a lower court.
