A new plan to redevelop Cooper Stadium is proceeding.
The Southwest Area Commission approved the plan last night by a vote of seven to four. A development team led by Bill Schottenstein wants to turn the former home of the Columbus Clippers into a mixed-use development with office space, housing, and retail. The plan will next move to Columbus City Council for consideration. Cooper Stadium was built in 1931 but has sat vacant since the Clippers moved downtown in 2008.
