Attorney Requests Lower Bond For Former Officer Adam Coy

The attorney for former Columbus police officer Adam Coy wants his client's bond lowered.

Coy is charged with murder and felonious assault for the December shooting death of Andre' Hill, who was unarmed at the time.

Coy faces four counts and is currently in jail on $3 million bond.  Attorney Mark Collins says that's three times the highest bond requested in comparable cases across the country.

Ohio Attorney General Dave Yost, who is special prosecutor in the case, requested the high bail.  Collins says a bond hearing is set for Tuesday morning at 11 am.

If convicted of murder for the shooting death of Hill, Coy could face up to life in prison.
