Ballot Board Approves Cannabis Control Amendment For 2016 Ballot

The Ohio Ballot Board has cleared a marijuana legalization amendment for the November 2016 ballot. The board has certified the measure as a single ballot issue. Ohioans to End Prohibition still must collect over 305 thousand valid petition signatures to get its "Cannabis Control Amendment" before voters. The group wants to allow adults 21 and over to legally grow up to six marijuana plants at home and possess up to 3.5 ounces. Medicinal marijuana users could possess up to 7 ounces, and caregivers could grow a dozen plants.  Another group called ResponsibleOhio is pushing a competing marijuana legalization proposal for the ballot this fall.
