Body Of Missing Columbus Woman, Amber Evans, Found In the Scioto

Columbus Police

Columbus Police says the body of a woman found in the Scioto River near the Whittier Pennisula Saturday has been identified as 28-year old Amber Evans, who had been missing since January.

Evans’ family has been notified.

Evans was reported missing January 28th.  Her car was later found in the Scioto Mile area.

Columbus police, Franklin County deputies and friends and family had been searching for the young community activist.  Dive team efforts were hampered by high waters.

Initial reports indicated Evans disappeared following a domestic dispute, but family say there was no history of violence and police say there was no reason to suspect foul play.

A native of Chicago, naturalized citizen of Cincinnati and resident of Columbus, Alison attended Earlham College and the Ohio State University. She has equal passion for Midwest history, hockey and Slavic poetry.
