Bond Set For Former Vice Cop In Death Of Columbus Woman

Bond is set at 1 million dollars for a former Columbus vice cop charged with killing a woman who he and police officials claim stabbed him during an undercover prostitution investigation.  

Andrew Mitchell is under house arrest and has pleaded not guilty in the the 2018 death of Donna Castleberry. Police officials say Mitchell was attempting to take Castleberry into custody in of an unmarked vehicle at Bellows and South Yale Avenues.  Police say Castleberry stabbed Mitchell leading up to the shooting. Castleberry’s family has filed a wrongful death lawsuit against the City of Columbus, the Columbus Division of Police and Mitchell. He has  also pleaded not guilty to federal charges of forcing women to have sex with him under threat of an arrest.
