Any federal education money recovered from the now-closed Electronic Classroom of Tomorrow would go back to Ohio school districts under proposed legislation.
Democratic U.S. Senator Sherrod Brown of Ohio says he's introduced a bill instructing the U.S. Department of the Treasury to direct any federal funding recouped from ECOT to Ohio districts rather than to its general fund. Democrats are seeking to keep voters focused on the ECOT scandal ahead of the fall elections, when Brown faces a re-election fight against Republican Jim Renacci.
