Browns Sign Running Back Facing Domestic Violence Allegations

The Cleveland Browns yesterday signed running back Kareem Hunt, nearly three months after he was waived by the Kansas City Chiefs when a video surfaced of him shoving and kicking a woman in a Cleveland hotel last February.

Browns general manager John Dorsey drafted Hunt when he worked for the Chiefs.
Hunt has not been criminally charged but is on the commissioner's exempt list, making the Ohio native ineligible to play or practice. The league is still investigating the incident. Browns co-owner Dee Haslam serves on an NFL committee on domestic violence. She was not available for comment yesterday. Last December Haslam, her husband Jimmy and a local physician agreed to purchase the Columbus Crew SC.

Jim has been with WCBE since 1996. Before that he worked as a reporter at another Columbus radio station, and for three newspapers in Southwest Florida.
