Budget Cuts Force Declines In Head Start Enrollment

The Office of Head Start says the number of low-income Ohio children in its preschool programs will drop by more than 18 hundred this school year because of automatic federal spending cuts.The programs help kids prepare for elementary school and gives them meals and health care. The Ohio Head Start Association says teachers have been cut and student waiting lists have been extended at most of its preschools and affiliates.
