The Columbus College of Art and Design has selected a new president. The college's board of trustees this morning chose 40-year-old Melanie Corn, who is currently provost of the California College of the Arts. Corn was selected from a pool of 29 candidates to succeed Thomas White, who resigned last March. He stepped aside after only eight months on the job. Corn will take over on March 21 of next year.

Jim has been with WCBE since 1996. Before that he worked as a reporter at another Columbus radio station, and for three newspapers in Southwest Florida.
