Two Chillicothe Police officers who were the subject of a rape investigation have resigned.

Police officials say Brandon Mather and a friend were drinking at a bar while off-duty in January when he called officer Tad Franklin to pick him up.  While they were at the bar, a woman staying in the adjoining hotel reported being assaulted by her boyfriend.  Franklin arrested the boyfriend and the woman  went home with Mather and his friend, where they are accused of sexually assaulting her.  Both officers were found guilty by an outside review. They resigned ahead of a disciplinary hearing that was scheduled for today. The Ohio Bureau of Criminal Identification and Investigation is still looking into the case.
