Cincinnati Decriminalizes Possession Of Small Amount Of Marijuana

Cincinnati City Council has voted to decriminalize up to 100 grams of marijuana possession for recreational use.

Fines and jail time will be eliminated, but smoking it  in public is still not allowed.  Supporters like Council member Chris Smitherman say current laws leave too many people, particularly minorities, with criminal records and without jobs.
The ordinance takes effect in July.  Columbus City Council is considering taking similar action.
