Cincinnati Replaces Columbus Day Holiday With Indigenous Peoples' Day

Cincinnati is joining a growing number of U.S. cities in replacing the controversial Columbus Day holiday.

City Council says Indigenous Peoples' Day will be held in the queen city on Monday.  The event honors Native-Americans. A spokesperson says the City of Columbus has no plans to replace the traditional holiday.

Jim has been with WCBE since 1996. Before that he worked as a reporter at another Columbus radio station, and for three newspapers in Southwest Florida.
