City To Offer Rebates For Installing Home Electric Vehicle Chargers

The Columbus Division of Power is offering 200 thousand dollars in rebates to residents who install an electric vehicle (EV) charger at their homes.  

Customers will be able to apply for a refund of up to 500 dollars per home to install Level 2 charging stations. The equipment plugs into a 240 volt outlet, and can charge a battery in 4 to 6 hours. The rebates are offered to owners of single-family homes or multi-unit dwellings on a first come, first served basis. Applications will be accepted through September 30. People must contact the Division of Power for preapproval and to review electric load requirements.  More information is online at the Columbus Division of Power's website:
