The Ohio Inspector General's office says a full-time Department of Medicaid employee improperly used state hours and resources working a side job under a contract she was awarded by another state agency.
The IG says Mona Arrington performed contractual work for the Department of Mental Health and Addiction Services while she was being paid as a Medicaid health systems administrator. She attended meetings involving the agency or the Southwestern City Schools while claiming state pay. Arrington's company, Human Services Business Solutions, received a personal-services contract from the mental health agency after Arrington certified she was not a state employee. The IG says a review of her state email account and computer also found she was performing work for her business during state hours. Arrington remains on the job at the Medicaid department. Her contract with mental health agency ended on June 30. The case has been turned over to the Columbus city attorney’s office for consideration of criminal charges.
