Columbus City Schools will begin returning more students to schools March 15.
Superintendent Talisa Dixon says grades 6, 11 and 12 will return that week to the hybrid two days in-school, three days online format. Cohort A will begin Monday, Cohort B on Thursday. The following week, students in grades 7-10 will return to hybrid learning.
Teachers will be required to return to buildings Monday March 8th, and will be expected to work four days a week from the buildings, and work remotely on Wednesday, when school buildings will be cleaned.
Dixon says transportation - which has been a sticking point - has opened up, in part because more charter/nonpublic school families, as well as district families, have agreed to opt out of yellow bus service.
For families who don't feel comfortable sending kids back to buildings, registration for the online, self-guided Digital Academy has re-opened for students grades 6-12.
The superintendent will take part in online Family Engagement Session this evening, starting at 6pm.
