columbus.gov

Columbus City Council last night approved legislation establishing a framework to tax short-term rentals.

Also approved were clarifying language and amendments to regulations governing the rentals approved last year. Sponsoring Council member Mike Stinziano says those include a provision to ensure personal privacy.

Enforcement of the regulations and taxation take effect effect March 1. Council also approved spending more than 11 million dollars for infrastructure improvements on North High Street from West Starr Avenue to East 9th Avenue. The panel also approved the creation of a Far West Area Commission that covers 11 square miles and more than 15 thousand residential units south of Hilliard and west of I-270.
