Columbus Council To Vote On Police Reforms Tonight

columbus.gov

Columbus City Council tonight is expected to hold votes on police reform legislation.

Council has been looking at four key areas, including the use of no-knock warrants, demilitarizing police equipment, independent investigations of misconduct, and background checks to determine an officer's ties to known hate groups.  Three ordinances are set to be voted on tonight with one placing a civilian review board on the November ballot.

Jim has been with WCBE since 1996. Before that he worked as a reporter at another Columbus radio station, and for three newspapers in Southwest Florida.
