The Catholic Diocese of Columbus says Sunday mass can begin in most parishes on May 31.
While some churches are already opening for individual prayer, Columbus Bishop Robert Brennan anticipates celebrating public Mass startingthe week of May 25.
Safety measures will include face masks, social distancing in pews and churches undergoing deep cleanings.
Bishop says parishioners in Columbus are dispensed from the obligation to attend Mass until September. In April, the Catholic Bishops of Ohio canceled all services through May 3 amid the COVID-19 pandemic.
