The City of Columbus is launching an educational campaign to help residents know what can and can't be recycled.
For the next eight weeks, workers will walk to nearly 20 thousand homes to check recycling containers for incorrect items. The city is trying to stop contamination from the wrong items being sent to the recycling center. Officials say the more than four million dollar per year cost of the recycling program can come down if people place the correct items in their bins.
