Columbus Police Debut Podcast To Help Solve Cold Cases

Columbus Division of Police

The Columbus Division of Police hopes a new podcast will help solve a decades-old crime. The division this week launched 'The 5th Floor' series, which explains the abduction and killing of 8-year-old Kelly Ann Prosser in the fall of 1982.

Deputy Chief Greg Bodker says he and others came up with the idea last summer, because the department is trying to find new ways to connect with the community and solve crimes in the process. The 5th Floorwill feature four to six 30-minute installments and feature interviews with detectives who worked on the case. It's one of three podcasts the department debuts this month.

Mike Foley joined WCBE in February 2000, coming from WUFT in Gainesville, Florida. Foley has worked in various roles, from producing news and feature stories to engineering Live From Studio A sessions. A series of music features Foley started in 2018 called Music Journeys has grown into a podcast and radio show. He also assists in developing other programs in WCBE's Podcast Experience. Foley hosts The Morning Mix, a weekday music show featuring emerging and established musicians, our Columbus-area and Ohio-based talent, and additional artists that inspire him.
