Columbus Woman Charged In Overdose Death Of Her Father

Arraignment is scheduled Wednesday for a Columbus woman indicted by a Franklin County grand jury on charges of injecting her father with a lethal dose of heroin. 27-year-old Lindsay Newkirk faces charges of involuntary manslaughter and corrupting another with drugs for injecting 55-year-old Leonard  Newkirk last February. Prosecutors say she injected herself in the arm, and then injected her father. When she woke up the following morning, her father was unresponsive. Earlier this month, the Franklin County Sheriff's office announced an arrest warrant had been issued for Lindsay Newkirk on an involuntary manslaughter charge in connection with a local overdose case.
