Confederate Flag Merchandise Will Not Be Sold At Ohio State Fair

Ohio State Fair officials say vendors will not be permitted to sell Confederate flag merchandise at the event that starts July 29. General Manager Virgil Strickler says the policy complies with the fair's long-standing rule banning the sale of merchandise with offensive wording, lettering or graphics. The flag has come under renewed scrutiny since nine African-American churchgoers were fatally shot in a Charleston, South Carolina church in June. The suspect charged in the shootings appeared in photos holding the flag.
