Coronavirus Prompts CCS, OSU, CBJ To Cancel Or Limit Attendance At Some Events

Columbus City Schools are canceling all district-sponsored evening events through March due to coronavirus concerns.  The cancellations include concerts, plays, dances, competitions, PTA and booster club meetings, field trips, and staff travel. The district says after-school clubs and activities, including athletic practices, will be held as scheduled.  The district says it will continue to follow guidance from  health officials.

The Columbus Blue Jackets home game tonight wiil take place with no ticketed fans in attendance.  The team says all remaining home games will be played without spectators following Ohio Governor Mike DeWine beginning to draft an order banning mass gatherings over coronavirus virus concerns.  Home and visiting club personnel, approved media members, essential staff, and NHL officials will be  allowed to attend games. 
 

 
Ohio State University is canceling the 2020 Spring Football Game and limiting attendance at all sporting events until further notice due to coronavirus concerns. Only student-athletes, immediate family members, coaches and staff, essential event management, operational and facility staff, and select media members  will be allowed to attend.  OSU will refund all ticket holders who do not meet the new qualifications.
