The director of the Franklin County Board of Elections and a former subordinate have been indicted on felony theft in office and tampering with records charges involving bogus timesheets. Republican State Auditor Dave Yost says in a statement BOE chief Bill Anthony, who is also the former head of the Franklin County Democratic Party, faces three counts. Former BOE fiscal officer Brenna Umbstaetter faces two counts. An anonymous tip led to a probe that found Umbstaetter collected more than 7 thousand dollars in pay for work she did not perform - work that was submitted on her timesheets. Anthony allegedly approved the timesheets.  Umbstaetter resigned last August.
