CSB Reports Increased Traffic

The Community Shelter Board is reporting an increase in the number of people who say they have no permanent home.

Officials say the rise in unemployment from the COVID-19 pandemic is an early indication as to why homeless numbers are climbing.  The Board says it's too early to officially link the pandemic to increasing numbers at area homeless shelters, but it is a trend they are monitoring closely.  A recent report from the Aspen Institute shows as many as 40-million Americans could face eviction in the coming months due to the economic downturn.
