Dayton Sues State Over Red Light Camera Law

The City of Dayton has filed a lawsuit against the state over revenue generated  from traffic enforcement camera systems.

The city says a new law is unconstitutional and limits the ability to use the systems.  The measure takes away state funding from cities that use the cameras based on how much money they raise from violators. Similar lawsuits have been filed by the cities of Akron and Toledo.  Some state officials and other critics have called the systems municipal money grabs.
