Decree Ends Lawsuit By Female Jail Guards

The Justice Department has approved a consent decree that will end a discrimination lawsuit filed by female guards at the Summit County Jail. The guards say they were effectively demoted because county officials did not want them overseeing male inmates while they showered or were strip searched. A federal judge must approve the decree.
