Developers Float New Plan For Cooper Stadium Site

YouTube/Columbus Landmarks Foundation

A new development plan for Cooper Stadium is in the works.

The site has been vacant since 2008.  New documents have been filed with the city by SPARC Holding, a company owned by Arshot Development that also owns the former home of the Columbus Clippers.  A public meeting has been scheduled for August 21 at 7 p.m. at the New Horizon Methodist Church on Harrisburg Pike, with a presentation from the developers.  500 apartments are proposed, along with an office project and construction of several restaurants. Several plans from the past appear dead, including a racetrack and a stadium for Ohio High School Athletic Association events.
