DeWine Closes Babershops, Salons And Most BMV Sites

Ohio Governor Mike DeWine has ordered all babershops, nail salons, and tattoo parlours to close at the end of business today.

Also, he says he is closing 186 Bureau of Motor Vehicle sites across the state.  5 BMV's will remain open to issue commercial driver's license, in order to keep transportation and supply chains open.

"All other services will be online, or by mail, or they will simply be paused.  Also, 52 driver examinatuion stations will close.  We will be asking the General Assembly to pass legislation that will grant a grace period for people who cannot renew their license."

DeWine says BMV offices see a million customers every month, and closing them for the near future will help slow exposure to the coronavirus.

In Central Ohio, the Deputy Register office at 4503 Kenny Road will remain open, as will the driver examination station at 4738 Cemetary Road.
