DeWine Rejects Petition For Clean Energy Ballot Measure

The Ohio Attorney General has rejected a petition for a ballot measure requiring billions of dollars worth of state investments in alternative energy. DeWine says backers of the Ohio Clean Energy Initiative failed to collect the necessary one thousand valid petition signatures. DeWine and the Ohio Ballot Board cleared a similar proposal last year. An attorney for supporters said they revised the timing of the issuance of bonds under the amendment and had to refile their petition.
