Drillers Must Report Fracking Chemicals

Ohio Department of Natural Resources officials are advising oil and gas companies to share information on the toxic chemicals they use in fracking with local authorities, including first responders. Officials say federal disclosure laws trump a 2001 state law requiring the information be filed only with the department. The notification is in response to a complaint by environmentalists involving a January chemical emergency near St. Marys in Auglaize County.
