Elections Director Anthony Placed On Paid Leave

Franklin County Board of Elections

Franklin County Board of Elections director Bill Anthony has been placed on paid administrative leave, following last week's indictment on charges of theft in office and signing off on false timesheets.

Absentee Voting Manager Zach Manifold will serve as acting director until the board's August 1rst meeting.  Anthony resigned this year as chair of the Franklin County Democratic Party. He's been elections board director since 2010, a job he took after spending 12 years as an elections board member.  The three charges against Anthony carry a maximum sentence of 15 years in prison. A July 25 arraignment is scheduled for Anthony.
