The Emerati man whose language and attire led Avon hotel workers to falsely believe he was a member of ISIS has settled his lawsuit.
Attorneys for Ahmed Al-Menhali say the settlement avoids a trial that was scheduled to begin this week. Al-Menhali accused employees of Fairfield Inn and Suites of racial profiling when they called police in 2016. Police then placed him in handcuffs and detained him at gunpoint. The United Arab Emirates issued a warning to its citizens to avoid wearing traditional garments when traveling abroad. Lorain County prosecutors declined to file charges.
