Existing home sales in September declined from August on the local, state and national levels.

The National Association of Realtors says existing U.S. home sales fell by 3.4 percent last month, which was the largest decline in 2-and-a-half years. It was also the sixth straight monthly decline. Sales fell to a seasonally adjusted annual rate of 5.15 million. Sales have declined steadily in the past year amid rapid price increases, higher mortgage rates and a tight supply.
The Ohio Association of Realtors says existing home sales declined by 4.7 percent from August to a seasonally-adjusted annual rate of more than 144 thousand.
The Columbus Realtors trade association says nearly 26 hundred homes were sold in its multi-county region last month, down from more than 32 hundred in August.
The statewide average sale price fell by 6 thousand to more than 183 thousand dollars. The average regional price of more than 232 thousand dollars is up slightly from August.
