Feds Allow Autonomous Shuttle Firm To Restart Operations

easymile.com

A self-driving shuttle service that was ordered to stop carrying passengers in February has been cleared to resume operations with new safety precautions.

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration ordered EasyMile to halt passenger operations on low-speed shuttles in Columbus and 15 other cities after a mysterious braking issue with a shuttle in Linden. The agency says EasyMile developed six corrective actions including software updates and seat belts to reduce the risk of a sudden stop.
