Feds Investigating Two Local Workplace Deaths

Delaware Police have yet to release the name of the person killed Friday in an apparent industrial accident at Liberty Casting Company.

A county emergency communications incident sheet shows the victim died after becoming crushed between two sand bolts in the back of the plant. The document says the victim was a resident of Baltimore, Ohio. An identity is being withheld pending notification of relatives. The U.S. Occupational Safety and Health Administration is investigating. Last August, five workers were injured in an explosion at the iron foundry. It's the second apparent workplace death in the region this week.  OSHA is also investigating Wednesday's fatality at the Fluvitex facility in Groveport. Authorities have declined to release any details as well as the name of the victim. Fluvitex supplies textiles to sweedish retailer IKEA.
