The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers projects Great Lakes water levels will rise by more than eight inches this summer for the first time in more than a decade. Spokesperson John Allis says the increase is due in large part to greater rain and snowfall totals.
Allis also says more ice coverage, which prevents evaporation, is also a factor.
