Feds Suing Riverside Hospital Over Employee Firing

The U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission is suing Riverside Methodist Hospital for firing an employee with a disability. According to the lawsuit, Laura Stone learned in 2009 that she has narcolepsy. She asked to be reassigned to another position, but the hospital placed her on medical leave. Stone was fired in February of 2010. The commission says it tried unsuccessfully to reach a settlement. Hospital owner OhioHealth has declined comment.
