Former CBJ Captain Rick Nash Returns To Columbus

Former Blue Jackets captain Rick Nash is coming back to Columbus.  

The team announced Thursday that the 34-year old Nash, who retired in January, has been named special assistant to general manager Jarmo Kekalainen.  Nash was drafted by the Blue Jackets in 2002 and played nine seasons with the team before being traded to the New York Rangers.

 In a press release, Kekelainen lauded Nash as :
 
"the most decorated player in Jackets history... [in] a career that included multiple All-Star games, Olympic and world championship gold medals, and a Stanley Cup finals appearance."  

In his position as special assistant, Nash will work with the hockey operations department, helping to recruit players to Columbus and helping  prospects develop.
